Network Power Connections (NPC) is a leading provider of high-quality electrical supply solutions across the UK. We can provide a complete electrical engineering service for Distribution Network Operators, Independent Distribution Network Operators and private network customers across the UK.
Network Power Connections are a BNO or Building Network Operator Specialists. An Independent Connection Provider (ICP) business based right in the heart of the UK. We have extensive expertise in delivering BNO networks. Our skills and experience team provide a single point of contact for the consultation, network design, resourcing and project management. Our specialism is in managing the delivery of multiple connections for multi occupancy buildings.
Are you a BNO that needs our extensive knowledge and expertise in managing Building Network Operator electrical networks across any multi occupancy building or factory that has been sub divided in smaller commercial or industrial units, retail units or apartments and flats?
Are you a Property Developer, Commercial landlord, Property Manager, Facilities Manager, Electrical Contractor, House Builder or 3rd party that needs cabling and supply to your meters? NPC are experts in the design and implementation of electricity connections and networks.
As a BNO you are responsible for the quality of the customer supply at the customer supply terminals in accordance with the Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations 2002.
A BNO requires a distribution license unless the BNO fulfils the requirements of an EDNO, for example, the distribution of less than 2.5MW load or generation less than 10MW; amongst other criteria.
If you are a commercial landlord or a property manager and you have a portfolio that includes multi occupy properties, you are responsible for the BNO network. Regulation then acquires your network to be subject to preventative and ongoing maintenance and annual inspections.
Network Power Connections can provide the electrical connections and ALSO provide essential and industry standard maintenance and annual inspection of the BNO network.
If you are an electrical contractor, you can ensure you’re meeting the correct standards for a building network operator by working with us to provide your design, advice and even end to end project management of any given electrical connection, installation or upgrade.
If you are a house builder, you need a partner to manage your BNO network installation. NPC are experts in the provision of design and installation layout for all electrical connections covered by a BNO process.
Property Developers need a quality electric connections partner. New build, refurb or conversion, flats or apartments, offices or any multi-occupancy project means you are the BNO and you need to be compliant. NPC are connection experts, able to design (to IET Wiring Regs BS7671), advise, project manage and install.
As a BNO you want a quality and complaint electrical connection and a configuration that make best use of the building layout and occupier convenience. We assure a well-planned and designed project maximising the building configuration.
If you are not sure if you are affected by the BNO standard, for example, the Building Network Operator (BNO) Design Standard legislation for electricity infrastructure contained within multi- occupancy buildings, then talk to us National Power Connections for the right advice.
The BNO Process can be challenging if you don’t have relevant experience and the technical and regulatory knowledge. At NPC we have the necessary experience and qualifications to provide BNO services, energy connections and full project management.
As a BNO you need to understand your responsibilities and options, including selling your BNO network. At NPC we can provide all the project management and support to meet your project needs.
What’s a DNO? A Distribution Network Operator in the UK is a licensed body responsible for regional distribution services that transport electricity from the National Grid and reduce the high voltage to lowest voltage levels for commercial and domestic applications.
There are 14 licensed DNOs owned by six different groups that cover specific geographically defined regions of Britain.
What’s an IDNO? Independent Distribution Network Operators are smaller OFGEM licensed companies who own and operate electricity networks.
DNO’s and IDNO’s generate revenue from the Distribution Use of System (DUoS) charges which are included in energy bills for both commercial and domestic customers. The DNO or IDNO then invoices the energy supplier.
In the energy supply chain, the DNO or IDNO are responsible for the power up to the Heavy Duty Cut out or Service Head.
The BNO is responsible for the internal electrical system, distribution boards and LSOH laterals plus the Service head for the property. NPC are experts in providing the cabling installation to the BNO.
The BNO design standard we operate covers all newly built multi-occupancy buildings and extends to refurbishment and renovations and existing multi-occupancy buildings and properties where installation changes are required.
The BNO design standard is applicable to the electricity distribution network located between the intake and the electrical installations. It is the responsibility of the building network operator to be compliant.
Complying to the BNO the design standard is a legal and regulatory requirement. Should the building not meet the standard the electricity supplier could refuse to install metres. Network Power Connections can take responsibility for the complete installation, from design and construction through to energisation.
